Our Background

Jacquelyn Peterson, owner and senior consultant of J C Peterson Consulting, is a graduate of Wedding Careers Institute, Inc., an international training program for wedding consultants. Peterson's training included wedding etiquette, budget preparation, site and vendor development, contract review and negotiations, ceremony and reception decor, and instruction in planning and directing religious and interfaith marriages. Peterson is a member of the Wedding Careers Worldwide Association.

Peterson received her BA from California State University Dominguez Hills, Gardena, CA; an MBA from National University in San Diego, CA; and an MA from Marymount University, Arlington, VA. As a former business advisor and educator, Peterson has years of experience in negotiating and contracting, and returned to the wedding industry with these skills after an extended break. J C Peterson Consulting is a professional, full service wedding consulting firm which offers a wide menu of services to the bride and groom. J C Peterson Consulting is also a certified trained dealer for Birchcraft Studios, Carlson Craft, Encore, and Regency Studios printing products, and specializes in the sale of wedding invitations (including Spanish Festividades and the Black Heritage Collection), wedding programs, bridal accessories, favors, attendant gifts, and various business printing products.

HISTORY

As a wedding director, Peterson conducted weddings in Southern California in the early 80's, but left the industry when she relocated to the Northern VA area. When the decision was made to return to the industry, Peterson decided to expand her role as director and became a full service wedding consultant, receiving formal training and graduating, from the Wedding Careers Institute, an international training program for wedding consultants.

J C Peterson Consulting proudly serves the Northern VA and Richmond areas, Washington DC, and Maryland. We will also plan, coordinate, and direct destination weddings.
